Announced today, October 23, 70s superstar band Hot Chocolate will make a massive comeback with lead vocalist Kennie Simon announcing his return to the stage in November 2025.
Hot Chocolate were one of the biggest bands of the 70s and have long cemented their place in British music history. Now they’re back as lead vocalist and frontman Kennie Simon has now signed with a new label, Hurricane Records.
Behind such hits as ‘You Sexy Thing’ and ‘Every1’s a Winner’, the Hot Chocolate discography boasts 25 UK top 40 singles and over 3.5m monthly listeners on Spotify.
Signing with an independent local Lanarkshire label, Hurricane Records, Kennie Simon is set to launch a brand-new album with the Airdrie-based record label.
This means much more regular appearances from Kennie Simon playing all the classic hits and some new originals too. Huge news for fans of Hot Chocolate given the lack of gigs in recent years.
Kennie has been recording brand new tunes in the studio this month at Substation Recording Studios in Rosyth, set to debut in 2026 with some singles set to release as early as this year.
Simon took over the lead vocals of Hot Chocolate in 2010 and has been on centre stage performing live with the band ever since. The new tour is set to begin with an intimate local gig at The Duchess in Kirkcaldy on November 14, with much more to come in 2026.
Kennie Simon brings back Hot Chocolate with all new band mates, featuring former Guinness World Records Holder Carl Williams – known worldwide for holding the ‘World’s fastest Drumming’ title.
Hurricane Records began representing the singer this month and will continue to do so in perpetuity. It’s the biggest name the label has secured to date, with the community-based record label committed to representing local bands based around Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
Founded by musician, manager, and artist Tom Glasgow in 2022 – Hurricane Records signing of Kennie Simon sets the stage for the acquisition of more high-profile artists by the Airdrie label in the very near future.
